We offer direct services for those seeking refuge from violence, including advocacy for our residents young and old, based on their particular circumstances. With the exception of safe housing, for those in the 7-county metro area the CAP provides the same services as our shelter. Women can also reach CAP by calling our 24-hour crisis line. CAP also complements the shelter by providing advocacy services to women and children after their stay here. We offer support groups, one-on-ones, home visits, and legal advocacy.
CAP staff does high-content, informational presentations for public, private and charter schools; churches; community centers; and businesses. Thousands have attended our sessions—on topics such as child abuse prevention, child sexual abuse, dating violence, sexual harassment, safety planning, and family violence.
