Application for membership shall be open to any individual, organization, or representative of an organization committed to observing and maintaining the purpose of MIWSAC in Article 1, Section II and by representing the coalition's Native values and grassroots identity.
Membership will honor the status of Native women by actively involving community women in our coalition. We support equality of women by upholding the sacredness of women from all walks of life, representing all Nations, especially those stigmatized by their experiences of victimization.
Applications will be reviewed and decided on by a consensus decision of the membership.
RIGHTS OF MEMBERS:
Every member is valued and is encouraged to give voice to their ideas for ending sexual violence against American Indian and Alaska Native women and children as we work together to create change that will benefit our tribal communities.
Each individual member or member organization will be eligible to contribute to the consensus decision making in membership selections of Circle Keepers.
RESIGNATION AND TERMINATION:
Any member may resign by submitting a written resignation with the Executive Director or the Keeper of Records.
If at least five members agree that a member may be harmful to the organization, is not adhering to the MIWSAC purpose, or is not representing the coalition’s Native values and grassroots identity; they can petition to remove the coalition member and the removal will be discussed at the next coalition meeting.
PLEASE COMPLETE THE FOLLOWING APPLICATION. THE APPLICATION WILL BE REVIEWED AT OUR NEXT COALITION MEETING.
